Weekend stories | the slow gatherings
Gather : a celebration of our days off, where family and friends get together sharing a great meal. There is something so special when people connect around the table, preparing seasonal recipes, sharing their experiences along the week, enjoying a glass of wine or two. Nothing fancy, just a big wooden table and benches, some flowers from the garden, some mixed plates and a linen tablecloth. Everybody bringing a home cooked dish or making it all together on the spot in the family kitchen. Maybe some simple little gifts for the host, some lights in the garden and soft music to create a cosy atmosphere. The internet is a great place to make new friends and discover their amazing work, meet people who you resonate with and build communities with them. It is my dream to join these wonderful and chill gatherings that I'll be sharing here. Until I do so, I saved my own small collection of gatherings, some of my personal favorites from Kinfolk to Sunday Suppers, from Local Milk to Cafe Spontane, from Melbourne to Denver and then back to Europe.
Hope you'll enjoy going through this collection that I'll be sharing weekly, because these people are doing an extraordinary work, bringing friends and strangers at the same table, cooking gorgeous recipes and setting up family style meals. And I also hope that this will inspire you to call your friends for lunch more often :) The first one in this series is a lunch hosted by Kinfolk . All their gatherings seem so relaxed and yet so well organized. Everything inspires slow living, from the carefully chosen menu, to the mindfully grown ingredients.
