In praise of autumn
If you've been following along you know that what we are pursuing is living a creative life at a slower pace, probably somewhere close to nature away from the rush of the city.
In our search for quiet we often find each-other lost in long conversations about childhood.
Those times when we lived flawlessly and when we didn't check our phone so often (because we did't have one actually).
The long awaited holidays from June to September, the summer spent in the countryside at our grandparents', the joy of playing free for hours in the middle of the street, with basically no toys, just coming up with a new game everyday.
And then September came...the crispy air in the morning, moms trying to hold their tears in the first day of school, flowers for the teachers, the joy of meeting school friends, the smell of new notebooks, that first page that you wanted to start with a nice handwriting and no scribbles.
As autumn slowly takes over the hot summer days and families come back from their holidays, we can all feel a certain thrill in these first days of September. It feels more like a new beginning then the NY ever will. And it's one of abundance and new plans, of markets full of fresh produces, of baked pumpkin pies, of comfy sweaters and movie nights with cinnamon flavor, of dinners in the backyard with mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, of a nature changing it's colors everyday. Autumn is the perfect time to make some shifts, to bring some changes in your lifestyle, to make time for yourself, to explore the outdoors more, to eat healthier and maybe bring some newness in your daily routine.
As I write these words, i'm cuddled in bed with a warm blanket, the window open to let the fresh and cold air come in. There are some croissants baking in the oven, a wooden scented candle to give that hygge feel, Radu sleeping quietly next to me, while i drink my hot coffee.
Autumn, welcome, you are wonderful!
