A winter gift guide for the slow living folk

Winter is a time to linger. We spend more time inside and invite friends for dinner more often, we fill our home with cinnamon scents, bake cookies and light candles. Go out for a sleigh ride in the snow and come back to a comforting hot chocolate. If summer is filled with outdoor activities, winter invites us to stay inside and enjoy the small things that we otherwise see as readily available in the everyday life.

The dark and grey days might seem long, especially when the Holidays are over, so I gathered some of my favorite items, thoughtfully and ethically made, that would make a lovely present for any slow living folk .

This can also be used as a Christmas guide, of course, although it came a little late (says the one who finished buying all the presents in the first week of December). Or just for bringing something special to everyday, for dedicating more time and attention to the small things that really matter to us and for celebrating them properly, be it with a gift for the home, for the family or just for ourselves. It's a carefully curated collection of home and lifestyle wares, gathered from some of my favorite small shops and artists.

Forever happiest at home

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
