A summer dream
This year I dream of leaving our city musings behind for a while. Driving away, looking for a tiny cottage in the countryside where we could spend a week or two, away from the noise of our busy city. A place where the air is clean and fresh. A small and simple home with french doors and large windows.
Where you prepare breakfast with vegetables from the garden and fresh eggs and cheese from the neighbor's farm.
The simplicity of a meal with fresh ingredients and picking wild flowers to set on a pretty table on the porch. Wearing linen dresses all day and going for long walks amidst ancient oaks or exploring the nearby villages and castles. Drying the clothes outside and eating watermelon after every meal.
Watching the sun graciously set over the garden, as we end another day of simple and slow living. Looking forward to another morning when we're woken up by the rooster's loud song. When we have coffee outside and go pick up the bottles of fresh milk. The lady from the small market in the center of the village already knows us and becomes our friend so we have te privilege of knowing when she brings fresh pastries and other goodies from local producers.
Such a place does exist and we go back to it every summer. It's in the heart of Transylvania and it has the most beautiful views of the rolling hills and small villages. You can read more about it on experiencetransylvania.ro
