A dream of fall

Photo via Pinterest

As the mornings become colder and September makes room for the darker days, we start to slow down and all that summer energy seems to disappear. We focus more on the activities around the house. Home baked bread and movie nights under a cozy blanket. More books on the night shelve, more time to rest our minds and reconnect with ourselves. Because summer is beautiful, but it keeps us busy all day long.

This seasonal shift makes me feel like spending more time in the kitchen and as the weather becomes colder there’s no better thing than a warm house smelling like freshly roasted vegetables.

It’s the time when we plan a little trip. The last one of the year. One in which we look for a small apartment next to a local market, we cook and walk a lot, looking for nice places to warm up with a coffee. Days of wine and oysters on a balcony overlooking an old town. And maybe a dinner and a cooking workshop, because I have such a long list of favorites that I should really start ticking them off. So if you too are dreaming of a short European city break, where you would do nothing else but explore the local markets in search for seasonal goodies, eating big amounts of cheese and drinking a chilled wine, maybe making new friends over a dinner, here is something that might inspire you. A mix of food and travel stories with extraordinary and very passionate people: France with The Cook’s Atelier
