A mindful gift guide
As the festive season approaches I guess it’s inevitable not feel stressed by the frenzy of it all. Traffic, crowded shops, long queues even when you want to buy just a regular baguette. The Holidays are a wonderful time of the year, just like the song says, but it would be great if we could make it less about consuming and more about the moments that we spend with our loved ones. About the simple family rituals like baking a traditional cookie and getting out the boxes with ornaments, lighting candles and calling friends over for dinner. The presents and the joy they bring are also important but we should not make it all about this. And more important we should not spend all on this.
So because I like curating lists of favorites, this year I’m sharing a little thoughtful gift guide, for the home, for the soul, for a slow paced life. From small brands and artisans, whose treasures are made to be kept and cherished.
When it comes to gifts I think we should either buy something that is really useful, which maybe was on the shopping list of the person we are offering it to, or we should see the gift as a small treat or something very personal and heartful.
Because rather than becoming swept up in the chaos and commerce of it all, we should think about how meaningful our gifts are and not let ourselves drifted towards excess and overspending. It’s all about the little moments that will be made even more enjoyable with some thoughtfully chosen gifts.
So here are some ideas, which I hope you will enjoy:
For your thoughts and memories. For the daily plans or the big family adventures, or maybe just for documenting the simple everyday moments that make like special.

For the cosy moments at home. The cosy nights on the couch watching a movie, the first sip of coffee in the morning, the hygge light of the candles on a cold afternoon. The simple things that bring us joy and make us feel comfortable at home.
- the warm recycled wool throw from The Future Kept
- the natural candles and candle holders from OVO things
- the baskets from Mikanu
- the cotton bedding sets from Studio Feder

Little luxuries for one's soul. The little Christmas gifts that make us smile, carefully made, with simple lines or little precious details.

For the wanderlust soul. For those who daydream and who travel to a new place just to attend an al fresco dinner with like minded people.

Little notes from the heart
Make the gift even more meaningful by adding a personal note and a hand illustrated tag by Annie Brougham. I believe that what makes a present special is not it's value in money but the message that we like to tell. How we make it more personal, the sparkle in the one's eyes when opening it and finding a little handwritten note inside. So keep the wrapping simple or make it yourself and leave a not, from the heart.
